From Cape Penguins to Kalahari Lions

I invite you on a unique journey, where you can observe and photograph the extraordinary flora and fauna we'll encounter along the way. We'll follow the Atlantic coast from the Cape of Good Hope to the Namibian border. Then we'll head up the Orange River to the gateway to the Kalahari Desert.

All year round

14 days - 3250€/pp if you are 3, 3900€/pp for 2 (flight not included)

Arrival in Cape Town
days 1 to 3 around Cape Town

The magnificent Cape of Good Hope peninsula

We will visit Table Mountain National Park, the fishing villages on the coast, the penguins of Betty's bay and the Kogelberg reserve

day 4 at West Coast Nat. Park

A short detour to the Franschoek vineyards is a must before entering the national park.
Cranes, waders, flamingos, seabirds and, if we're lucky, Cape Zebra and Caracal can all be seen here

days 5 and 6 in the Cederberg mountains

The ridges of the reserve are home to the Widdringtonia cedarbergensis, a local endemic tree in danger of extinction.Highlights of the area include the famous Stadsaal rock formations and remarkable examples of San rock paintings. The Wolfberg Arch via the Wolfberg Cracks, or the Maltese Cross, are two of the best places to observe wildlife.

day 7 and 8 in Tankwa Karoo

The Tankwa Karoo stands out for the preservation of its ecosystem. Its flora and fauna, adapted to arid conditions, attract researchers in fields as varied as archaeology, botany and geology. But the desert's greatest claim to fame is the paleontological richness of its soils.

day 9 in Augrabies Falls National Park

- The Augrabies Falls are a waterfall on the Orange River. They are 56 meters high.

days 10, 11, 12 and 13 Kgalagadi Park

Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park

The semi-desert landscapes are very beautiful, with tracks running along dry rivers bordered by dunes. Photographers will appreciate the beauty of the scenery, the open landscapes and the beautiful early morning and evening light.
As far as animals are concerned, the park is arid and you will only see animals adapted to the drought. Predators include lions, cheetahs, hyenas, numerous jackals, wildcats and, at night, otocyons. Lots of birds of prey, owls and vultures, and of course snakes and scorpions...
On the herbivore side, lots of springbok, oryx, wildebeest and steenbok, but no elephants, hippos, rhinos or buffalo...
Perfect for desert lovers, who will discover a surprising amount of life here.
